Political Evening “Digital Identities in the Germany Stack: From Strategy to Implementation”
On 8 October 2026, the Verband Sichere Digitale Identität e. V. (VSDI) will host its next Political Evening at Fraunhofer FOKUS in Berlin. Under the title “Digital Identities in the Germany Stack: From Strategy to Implementation”, we will discuss the next steps towards a high-performing identity infrastructure with guests from politics, public administration, industry and research.
The Germany Stack is taking shape. This increasingly raises the question of how its strategic objectives can be translated into practice. Which political, technical and organisational conditions need to be put in place now? And how can the various stakeholders and existing infrastructures work together successfully?
Perspectives from politics and practice
We are pleased to welcome Henri Schmidt, Member of the German Bundestag and CDU/CSU parliamentary group rapporteur on the Germany Stack, to our Political Evening. He will open the evening with a political perspective on the strategic and policy decisions shaping the Germany Stack.
Anja Soisson, Head of the Office for Digitalisation and Organisation of the City of Leipzig, will contribute the perspective of local government practice. In her presentation, she will focus on the conditions required for successful implementation at the local level.
In the subsequent panel discussion, Henri Schmidt and Anja Soisson will be joined by Lilly Schmidt (expert in the practical implementation of trusted identity solutions and digital public administration) to discuss the path from strategy to concrete implementation. The discussion will be moderated by Dr Jens Klessmann, VSDI Board Member and Head of Digital Public Services at Fraunhofer FOKUS.
Following the discussion, a networking session with snacks and drinks will provide an opportunity to continue the conversation and exchange ideas with fellow participants.
Registration is possible via email at info@vsdi.de.
We look forward to an engaging evening and an insightful exchange on how digital identities can become a successful part of the Germany Stack.
