Review of a successful OMNISECURE 2026
OMNISECURE 2026 once again demonstrated the central role that digital identities play for government, business and society. For the VSDI, the conference was characterised by intensive discussions, strong content-related impulses and a clear common goal: the further development of trustworthy and sovereign solutions for digital identities.
One of the highlights was the keynote speech by Dr Markus Richter on the second day of the conference. With a view to European developments, he emphasised:
‘For me, the wallet is the product that will take us furthest forward.’
The Federal Ministry of Digital and Public Service focused on three key objectives: improving access to administrative services, strengthening Germany as a business location and securing the state's ability to act in the long term.
The expert panels also underscored the strategic importance of digital identity. In the panel discussion ‘Technological sovereignty for future technologies,’ our association members Franziska Granc, Lilly Schmidt and Dr. Jens Klessmann discussed key issues of digital sovereignty.
Key findings:
Digital identity is no longer a niche topic, but a basic prerequisite for technological sovereignty. Trustworthy solutions can only be achieved through common standards, open interfaces and close cooperation, as well as trust in security, data protection.
