VSDI welcomes GOVMEN as a new member

We are delighted to welcome GOVMEN GmbH as a new member of our association. The Berlin-based company advises public institutions on the strategic and operational implementation of digital projects – from organizational development to technical implementation.

GOVMEN focuses in particular on designing efficient processes and securely implementing digital solutions in public authority structures.

We took the opportunity to ask Jutta Lautenschlager, Managing Director of GOVMEN, a few questions.

VSDI: You founded your company in 2000 with a focus on digitization and e-government. What motivated you to start the company? And what do you think has changed the most in these areas?

Jutta Lautenschlager: I have been involved in projects related to the digitization of public administration for over 25 years and have seen many isolated solutions that worked on a regional level. In a globalized and digital world, it is necessary to have data standards and standardized interfaces that enable real-time data exchange. Thanks to the modernization of registers and the creation of standards, improvements are now visible in this area, and it is essential that these be implemented.

VSDI: Where do you currently see the greatest challenges in administrative modernization?

Jutta Lautenschlager: Even though a whole host of harmonized target processes have been developed as part of the OZG concept, each administration still works according to its own rules. I see the challenge in providing target processes and the technical components needed to implement them digitally.

VSDI: What role does the topic of “secure digital identity” play in your work?

Jutta Lautenschlager: Unfortunately, not a significant one yet. In my experience, there is still a lot of information work to be done here, because there are considerable reservations. In my opinion, best practices can help convince administrations to introduce it.

VSDI: What are you most looking forward to in your collaboration with the association and its members?

Jutta Lautenschlager: I am looking forward to the cross-industry exchange!

Welcome, GOVMEN! We look forward to the exchange.
