What is data processed for?

Hosting

When you visit our website, we only collect data that your browser transmits to us. This includes the IP address, the timestamp of the request, the URL of the requested page, the HTTP response code, the amount of data transferred, the browser used including language and version as well as the operating system and the URL of the website from which the request came. We also store this data, including the IP address, in log files.

This data is technically necessary for us to display our website, ensure stability and security and optimise our offering.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR, whereby our legitimate interest arises from the purposes mentioned.

We delete this data after 30 days at the latest. Any further storage only takes place after the IP address has been deleted or anonymised.

This is a tracking method from a company based in Canada that does not require the use of cookies. The company has developed a method called ‘EU Isolation’ for use in compliance with EU law. This means that all EU visitor traffic is processed on EU servers belonging to a German legal entity. In this way, website visitors are better protected from access by non-EU authorities.

Registration for events

We offer online registration for the organisation and implementation of our events. For this purpose, we use the Guestoo service provided by Code Piraten GmbH, Am Zollhafen 5, 50678 Cologne, Germany.
When you register for one of our events, the personal data you enter (e.g. name, email address, organisation, other voluntary information if applicable) will be processed for the purposes of event organisation, participant management, admission control and event-related communication.
The processing is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (performance of a contract or implementation of pre-contractual measures) and, where applicable, Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in the efficient organisation of our events).
Guestoo acts as a processor for us in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. A corresponding contract for order processing has been concluded with the provider. The data is generally processed within the European Union.
Your data will only be stored for as long as is necessary for the implementation and follow-up of the respective event, provided that there are no legal retention obligations to the contrary.

Photography and filming at events

Photographs and/or films may be taken during our events. These serve to document the event and for the association's public relations work (e.g. publication on our website, in social media, in newsletters or print publications).
Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in public relations and documentation of our association's work).
If individual persons are the focus of the recordings or are photographed specifically, this will only be done with the appropriate consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, you can contact us at any time on site.

What rights do you have?

In principle, you have the right to information, the right to rectification or erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to object to processing and the right to data portability.
